It was really challenging to find pharmacy software that fit the needs of our compounding pharmacy. There’s not many software options out there that are very robust for the needs of a compounding pharmacy. Winpharm is that special compounding software that meets the needs of our compounders, with integration for our analytical balances, easy formulation building, workflow queues that include formulation building, compounding ques and quality assessment ques. There is just so much to like. The compounding queues are especially useful for efficiency, so that everyone knows what work there is and what needs to be done next. We are just not a regular retail pharmacy and Winpharm is a great fit for us.
The biggest drawback we had with our previous software company was lack of any understanding of the complete and complex needs of our compounding pharmacy. Datascan gets it. The team at Winpharm is very easy to get a hold of, just a phone call away and you talk to a live person. They have made programming changes for us to make sure the software does what we need it to do for our unique pharmacy.
The dispensing portion of the software is very intuitive and takes little training to use. You can tell that they have had input from pharmacists and pharmacy technicians when designing and programming the software.

Can you track my lot #s?
Absolutely. Datascan’s pharmacy compounding software allows you to create an unlimited number of LOTs and link each lot to the specific prescriptions that were dispensed in that lot. You can search lot numbers in our system, include lot numbers in reports, and set specific expiration dates per lot.
How easy is it to build a compound in your pharmacy software?
While compounding can be complicated, Datascan’s pharmacy software makes it easy. Our trainers work with you and your staff to teach you how to create formulas, verify formulas, create compound batches or lots, and verify batches and lots. Our compound module is comprehensive while still easy to use and learn.
Do you integrate with scales?
Do you have a way for Doctors to send/manage compound Rx orders?
Yes. Doctors have options for how to send prescriptions for compounds into your Datascan Pharmacy Software. They can send electronic prescriptions via SureScripts, send faxed orders, or they can use our Datascan Doctor Portal. The Doctor Portal is included in your Winpharm system to help manage compound prescription orders. As part of our robust compounding pharmacy software suite, doctors can request new prescriptions and refills and can track the status of their requests all through the portal.
